This course delves into the history of Christianity from the birth of the first Church in Jerusalem through the spread of the Good News within the Roman Empire and beyond to the "edges of the world" (up to the 21st century). The course consists of three modules. We are going to explore the process of the formation of the Christian tradition and Church teaching. We will also discover the challenges and changes in the internal and external life of the Church from its earliest periods up to our times. We will discuss the primary sources and read relevant literature in this context. We will also look at persons and events that have been important for the future development of Christianity in different regions. We will give special attention to understanding the forces that led to divisions within the Church, especially between Eastern and Western Christianity, and the attempts to restore Church Unity. We will mainly use English translations of the source texts for the course readings.

Базовий курс для студентів четвертого курсу історичної спеціальності (бакалаври). Передбачено ознайомити студентів з основними методологічними засадами історичної географії, методикою опрацювання джерел, складовими і суміжними дисциплінами.

Предметом курсу є історія країн Європи та Америки від зламу ХІХ - ХХ століть до сьогодення. Курс побудований на основі поєднання географічно-хронологічного та проблемного принципів, розкриває загальні тенденції історичного процесу та вузлові проблеми історії США, Великої Британії, Франції, Німеччини та інших країн Західної Європи, а також країн Центрально-Східної Європи. У ньому поєднується як теоретичне осмислення загального і конкретного в історичному розвитку народів Європи і Америки, так і великий фактичний матеріал.
